Kotileipomo Sorsa is a family business located in the municipality of Liperi in Eastern Finland. We specialize in Karelian pastries, honoring old traditions and craftsmanship in our baking. All our products are baked in a rye crust, and we favor locally produced ingredients.

The company was founded in 1968 in Vaivio, North Karelia, and at the time operated under the name Kotileipomo Ruokolainen. The current owner Anna-Liisa Karpathakis, has been an entrepreneur since 1983, when the company moved to its current location.

Kotileipomo Anna-Liisa Sorsa Ky was established in 1992 and was converted into a limited liability company in 2020, when the company’s name was also changed to Kotileipomo Sorsa. The company’s other owner, Mihail Karpathakis, has been working in the business since 2010. For many years, Kotileipomo Sorsa operated on the ground floor of the entrepreneurs’ detached house, until in 2013 a decision was made to build a modern bakery facility on the adjacent plot.

The company’s customers include retail stores, hotels, cafés, restaurants, bakeries and kiosks throughout Finland. Products are delivered either frozen and unbaked or freshly baked. The products are also sold at the bakery’s own shop and delivered freshly baked to customers in the surrounding area.
Kotileipomo Sorsa’s brand emphasizes the company’s roots, long history and strong traditions. The bakery offers its customers authenticity, handmade products and a commitment to preserving traditional baking methods. Our Karelian pies have Traditional Speciality Guaranteed (TSG) status, meaning that they are made according to a registered production method and specified list of ingredients.
