Nominated for the International Employer of the Year 2026 competition

Proud and grateful to be nominated for the International Employer of the Year 2026 competition – together, we’re building an even more diverse and inclusive workplace!
Our organisation has been nominated for the International Employer of the Year 2026 competition. This nomination is a significant recognition for us and reflects the positive attention our work with international talent has received, as well as our ability to respond to the changing needs of today’s working life.
The competition aims to highlight organisations that have excelled in promoting diversity, equality and inclusion within their workforce, as well as in international recruitment. The competition is organised by the Finnish Junior Chamber International (JCI Finland), with Work in Finland, Business Helsinki, and the cities of Espoo, Tampere and Turku as partners.
Diversity as Part of Our Everyday Work and Values
We are an equal and inclusive workplace where every employee and job applicant is treated as an individual, without prejudice. For us, diversity is not a separate goal, but an integral part of our everyday work, our practices and our company brand.
International employees have played a particularly important role in helping us manage our increased workload. Their contribution has enabled us to respond to growing demand, develop our operations and offer permanent employment opportunities. This has supported both business growth and the stability of our workplace.
As a small business, we do not rely on extensive measurement systems. Instead, we monitor our development through indicators such as employee satisfaction, revenue growth and the commitment of our international employees. Based on these factors, we can see that investing in diversity has strengthened both our workforce and our business.
Our vision is to offer high-quality Karelian pies that bring people together regardless of their background, language or culture. This idea guides everything we do and is reflected in the way we interact with our customers and build our workplace community.
International Recruitment and Strengthening Inclusion
Our goal in international recruitment is to build a diverse workplace where different perspectives, skills and cultural backgrounds enrich both the working environment and the customer experience.
In practice, we promote inclusion in many ways. New employees receive comprehensive onboarding, clear work instructions and continuous support from the team. We also take different language backgrounds into consideration by using clear and easy-to-understand communication and providing opportunities to learn on the job.
In addition, we support our employees with practical matters in everyday life, such as completing official forms and finding opportunities to learn Finnish. When planning shifts, we take individual needs into account whenever possible, for example when an employee is simultaneously attending language courses or other professional training.
A Long-Term Commitment to Equality and Inclusion
Promoting diversity, equality and inclusion is a long-term commitment for us and an integral part of developing our company. Our goal is to be a responsible employer that provides equal opportunities for professional development and creates a safe, respectful and supportive working environment for everyone.
Being nominated for the International Employer of the Year 2026 competition encourages us to continue this work with even greater determination and to further develop our operations based on openness, equality, inclusion and sustainable growth.
